2012 Corvette Cup G.T. Series

Rules.

Driver eligibility:
Open only to expert/sportsman racers. Sponsored racers that have made the USA Worlds team and have qualified for the A final in any scale, are not eligible to compete in this class. The race director and event coordinator have the option of permitting "over qualified" drivers the opportunity to enter under a "Promoter's option" entry and compete however these drivers will not be eligible for points towards the series Championship.

Car:
Open to any 1/5th scale on-road car produced by any worldwide manufacture. One off or custom prototype cars are not permitted.

Body:
Production based street legal GT cars, i.e.; Porsche, Corvette, Ford Mustang etc.  However for the 2012 season any 2 door passenger coupe body will be permitted.  Absolutely no 4 door STC bodies allowed.

Wing:
Per ROAR rules for GT class. Key specs: Wing must not be wider than the car body attached or be taller than the roof of the car, additionally the wing cannot overhang the rear of the body shell at the cars centerline.

Tires:
Open

Engine:
23cc for 2 wheel drive or 26cc for 4 wheel drive models, as equipped from OEM manufacture.

Pipe:
Design is open as long as it complies with ROAR rules for noise limits.

Fuel:
Octane limit is open, providing it is Unleaded and is DOT legal as Pump gas and is 50 state compliant Per ROAR rules.

Race procedures:
A strict NO CONTACT rule will be enforced during the 2012 season especially during qualifying. Avoidable contact will be a driver requirement and failure by participants to “respect” other competitors will be punishable by “stop and go” penalties or exclusion from the event. During the main events drivers are allowed to protect their positions, however must adhere to the “avoidable contact” rule at all times. (Drivers having trouble or being lapped by faster cars must give way to leaders, additionally class leading drivers must respect slower traffic and not “punt” slower cars ‘out of the way’).

All “A” mains will be 30 minute with no refueling. All ROAR and NATC event rules apply.

Series:
6 races, with one throw out, with points system of 100pts for win, 99pts 2nd place, 98pts for 3rd etc. A single (1) point will be awarded for Top Qualifier.
